O Mapa da Cachaça

What is it?

O Mapa da Cachaça is an award-winning project in Brazil and abroad that produces and promotes information about cachaça, the most Brazilian distillate in the world. We do this through websites, books, social networks, events and in partnership with the best cachaceira minds in the world.

Our mission:

  • Reinforce the message of moderate and intelligent consumption of cachaça (and any other alcoholic drink);
  • Present cachaça as a cultural identity of the Brazilian people;
  • Contribute to the appreciation and dissemination of Brazilian memory by talking about a product that is more than 450 years old;
  • Produce texts, videos, photos, events that constitute a source of historical, social, cultural and technical information about cachaça;
  • Help cachaça producers to make cachaça a valued distillate in Brazil and abroad;
  • Doing all this with friends, good people, anyone with good intentions and with whom it is a pleasure to share a little glass of the blessed

The Manifest

We have something to confess: Mapa da Cachaça It's not a project just about cachaça.

Forgive our pretension, but here we want to talk about Brazil.

We want to talk about drip, blessed, water-that-bird-doesn't-drink, but also about history, culture, gastronomy, cocktails, economy, medicine, religion, arts and flavors that involve this sugarcane spirit produced here since the 16th century.

We want to talk about cachaça stored in native woods such as amburana, ariribá and jequitibá, without denying the external influences that make us age cachaça in European and American oak. After all, being Brazilian means being part of this whole mix. We also want to talk about Azuladinha from Paraty, Tiquira from Maranhão, Fixada from Santa Catarina, and the countless bottled recipes that use leaves, fruits, roots and seeds from Brazilian flora. Let's talk about the traditions and innovations that define cachaça as the most Brazilian distillate in the world.

Whether in its historical relevance as possibly the oldest distillate in America, or in the versatility of its production process, cachaça has everything to be recognized as one of the best distillates ever produced. As Mapa da Cachaça, we want to contribute so that very soon it can occupy a prominent place on shelves around the world, making us proud to be the “cachaça country”.
